Sustainable design and materials

At Watertoren Bollenstreek, we have given careful thought to the design of our meeting rooms, using the SDGs as our guiding principles. In doing so, we have paid particular attention to the reuse of materials. For example, the tables are made from locally sourced Bollenstreek timber, and we have used bamboo as the base material for much of our furniture. Sustainable design is evident not only in the rooms, but throughout the entire water tower – even on the outside of the tower itself!

Innovative reusable components

Our circular meeting rooms embody reuse and innovation. The workspaces at Watertoren Bollenstreek have been created from reused materials, and our phone booths are even made from former NS train doors. On the first floor, you’ll find a bookcase made from old parts of the historic water tower, including handrails from the original staircases. What’s more, the pantry in the water tower is finished with veneer made from recycled KLM flight attendant uniforms.
